Waukesha Engine No. 371     (added December 2011)

(Reprinted from: The Waukesha Motor News Bulletin, dated June 12, 1936)

How many engine companies do you suppose could boast of such a record as the Service Department reported recently?

They say; "We have just received a purchase order from the Lake Geneva Water and Light Commission at Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, for parts to repair Waukesha engine No. 371. This was built in June 1910, and delivered to the Palmer Boat Company. Doesn't this prove quality workmanship and skillful design when an engine 26 years old is worth buying repairs for?" And proudly adds the Service Department; "we had the parts he wanted, and shipped them that night."
